Chamber Supports an Independent Woman

Rochester Regional Chamber Supports an Independent Woman

Dawn Tellinghuisen has been an Avon independent sales and leadership representative since 1983, and is the top in district sales. When she speaks in front of a crowd her closing remark is “think of me as more than just the ding dong lady.”

Dawn has been an active Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce (RRCC) member for more than six years. She started with an expo held at River Crest Banquet Hall and later became instrumental in initiating the Chamber’s Ambassador Network program. This group of dedicated volunteers serves as the extended staff of the Chamber. They help welcome new members and serve as greeters at numerous Chamber events. Dawn tells all new Ambassadors that being part of this group has increased her businesses’ visibility.

Because of the numerous free classes and events that the RRCC offers, Dawn shared that “she has stepped out of her comfort zone.” Anyone who knows Dawn would describe her as an engaging and positive person. Her favorite Chamber networking events are Coffee Talk, a “speed-dating” format, and the Business Women’s Roundtable Luncheon which as Dawn says “had opened the door for sales.”

Dawn’s two grown children and husband are active in her Avon business. To give back to the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce she became a board member. She wants everyone to know that if you want to start or grow a business join the Rochester Regional Chamber as quickly as possible. “This is an incredible business family that works for you” Dawn said. Dawn can be reached at www.youravon.com/tellinghuisen.

RRCC is the largest chamber in Oakland County and Michigan’s 2008 Outstanding Chamber of the Year. Affordable membership is open to individuals, entrepreneurs, businesses and corporations of all sizes and nonprofit organizations. All students and Oakland University alumni receive a discounted membership rate.

The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce is located at 71 Walnut, Suite 110 (corner of First and Walnut streets) in downtown Rochester. Contact them at 248-651-6700 or info@rrc-mi.com. The website is www.rrc-mi.com.

RRCC’s mission is to provide leadership and resources in order to advance business development in partnership with civic, cultural and educational interests for the benefit of its members and the community.
