The City of Rochester was recently named one of “America’s 100 Best Small Towns.” The listing compiled by CNNMoney Magazine named Rochester 52nd.
Chamber Executive Director, Sheri Heiney states “The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to once again be nationally recognized for what the local community already knows. The City of Rochester truly is one of America’s great small towns.”
To determine the top 100, “CNNMoney's Best Places database of 1,800-plus U.S. cities includes towns with populations 8,500 to 50,000 with satisfactory education and crime scores.” The study also looked at statistics in the following five categories: jobs (economy), housing affordability, safety, education and arts. In 2005, the Rochester area also placed on the top 100 list.
The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce is Oakland County’s largest chamber and was awarded the 2008 Michigan’s Outstanding Chamber award.
